Welcome
Welcome to the faith community of Saint Boniface Church. We are prompted by the spirit of God to proclaim Christ Jesus in word and deed. We continue our faith walk in this new millennium meeting challenges one by one reaching out to Jesus and one another. We do this because we are family and want to make a difference in our faith walk. We have discovered that we need Jesus and each other. Let's continue to make it a good day for someone else. Carry on!

A Prayer of Saint Boniface
Daily Schedule of Masses:
Eternal God, the refuge and help of all your children,
we praise you for all you have given us,
for all you have done for us,
for all that you are to us.
In our weakness, you are strength,
in our darkness, you are light,
in our sorrow, you are comfort and peace.
We cannot number your blessings,
we cannot declare your love:
For all your blessings we bless you.
May we live as in your presence,
and love the things that you love,
and serve you in our daily lives;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Hi! it's me again. The Holy Spirit helps us know & love the Father and follow the teachings of the Son

We are not alone in our struggles to remain faithful to God despite being in a world that seems to surround us with evil. We have the church, the companionship of believing people to teach us and to do good.

So the Gospel cautions us against impatience. At times we are a little too eager to rout out and destroy what seems to be evil. We need to remember that God sees and that there is always a chance for conversion, a chance God is willing to take.

What we need is time to pray and seek advice even though it slows down the process on our journey of faith.

Last week you saw in the bulletin under the phrase, let us pray to the Lord, a reminder to all of us to pray for the sick. So please take the bulletin with you. We also have a direction for us to follow, to keep our list current.

Last June I suggested that if you wanted to bring communion to someone, please let me know. You can do this after mass on the weekend. This has been going on for a number of years in the dioceses. Please see me at coffee or give me a call.

Carry on!

A Special Message for Parents

Members of the eighth grade class received their Confirmation this weekend. It is a big event for these young people and for their families because they have worked so hard for so long to come to this day. They are to be congratulated on this special milestone, of receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Their education is not ended – their needs are addressed in our teenage federation program in the parish and in the archdiocesan program at Blair Lodge. Keep in touch with Christine Borsinger, our teen youth coordinator.

From their early beginnings in Kindergarten, when they began to have an awareness of God, to their learning how to say the prayers we say in times of happiness and in times of need, to their First Holy Communion day when they received Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, to their first penance, when they spoke to God through the priest, to their study of the Bible, to their study of morality and how it affects the decisions they make in their own lives, to their participation in community service, as a stepping stone to become a follower of Jesus’ example of the call to serve, these boys and girls continue their amazing spiritual journey.

You may wonder why I am saying all of this at the end of the school year rather than at the beginning of the year. The truth is, we are already beginning to prepare the educational program for your children in the fall. We have teachers who are eager to work with your children in their journey of learning about their faith and the Catholic Church. We are going to have a new program for the entire family, and you will be hearing more about that in the fall.

You should have received registration material in the mail. If you have not received a registration packet, and would like to register your child or children, there are registration packets in the back of the church.

If you have any questions, please contact Fr. Grace or Kay Olive-Kelly. Until sometime in July, you may also contact me.

Thank you and have a safe summer.

-Deacon Tom
