The St. Boniface Adult Choir

The Adult Choir primarily sings at the 11:30 AM Mass most Sundays and provides the music for the important feasts and celebrations during the church year, excluding the summer months. This Choir also enhances Services during the year including "A Festival of Lessons and Carols" during Advent and "From Ashes to Easter Service" during Lent.

Membership in the Adult Choir is open to all adults and teens (grade nine or higher) who have a love for singing and a sincere interest in enriching liturgical worship through the medium of music. Previous musical experience is helpful, but not essential. The choir rehearses Mondays at 8:00 PM in the church.

Those who wish to join are invited to come to a rehearsal and meet with the Director.

Disciples of God Music Ministry (D.O.G. Music Ministry)

This new guitar-based music ministry is comprised of young musicians from grades 6 through 12. It provides music for the 5PM Saturday Youth Group Masses, excluding the summer months. Their music is upbeat and reflectes the style of music which appeals to young people. Rehearsal times to be determined.

Singers and instrumentalists, with some musical experience, are welcome.

Cantors and Organists

Cantors and Organists are an important and integral part of music ministry at St. Boniface. They provide music for the majority of the Masses during the year.

Cantors and Organists should be capable and confident chanting the psalms and leading the congregation in song and praise.

The Celebration Ringers Handbell Choir

To re-establish the Handbell Choir at St. Boniface, the Handbell Choir needs a minimum of 8, but preferably 11 - 12 ringers, with some musical experience. Rehearsal times to be determined.

Initially, the Celebration Ringers will be adults and teens at the beginner level. This Handbell Choir will play occasionally for worship and attend a Handbell Festival each year.

Children's Christmas Musical

The children of the parish enjoy participating in the Christmas Musicals so much. The musicals help them get into the spirit of Christmas and often the music learned for the musical can be used during the 4PM Christmas Eve Children's Mass. Rehearsals are in November and December with dates and times to be determined. Please encourage your child to join the fun!

Children's Christmas Pageant

St. Boniface children of all ages participate in the annual Christmas Pageant liturgy. This Pagent includes scriptural readings, songs, and acting out the Nativity of Our Lord in costumes. The Pagaent is usually the second or third Sunday of Advent and is supported by the singing of the Adult Choir. It is usually followed by a visit from Santa himself! All children ages 3 years + are welcome!

The St. Boniface Singers

Occasionally, there is the need for enhanced music. The St. Boniface Singers is comprised of the Adult Choir members, additional parishioners not usually in the choir, friends and neighbors. The commitment required for this group is minimal.

If you are a singer and are available for occasional singing, this might be the group for you.

Sacred Music Society

Membership in this new Society provides parishioners and friends with the opportunity to support fine programs of sacred music at St. Boniface. Through its efforts, the Society seeks to sponsor the continued development of music appropriate for liturgical worship, as well as quality seasonal concerts. Membership is open to all who have a desire to help support and maintain high standards of music in our parish.

St. Boniface is open to new and different music ministries. If you would like to start a new music group at St. Boniface Church from within the church or from the community, please contact the Director of Music Ministry, Ellen McNamara.

Music Service Hours

Participation in any aspect of St. Boniface Music Ministry credits young people with Service Hours. These Service Hours may be applied to Confirmation, Scouting, School or other requirements. Please see Mrs. McNamara for a letter noting Service Hours.
