Maire Liberace Appointed to the Rank of
Distinguished Service Professor by the
State University of New York.
Since the program’s inception in 1963, there have been only 298 appointments awarded. The criteria for this prestigious award not only requires substantial distinguished service to RCC, but also having rendered influential services at the community, regional, state, national and international levels extended over multiple years.
Maire is a Professor of Speech and Philosophy at RCC. She is a certified bioethicist. She is both a registered nurse and a state certified midwife. Maire is a published author and poet. She is a long standing member of the Good Samaritan Hospital Board and of the Bon Secours Health System Board. She has chaired the Quality Assurance Committee at Good Samaritan Hospital and serves on the Catholic Identity Resource Tool and Ethics committees. Maire also is also active in the East Ramapo School District, the arts, and cultural and community organizations in Rockland, New York State and internationally. She has been privileged to sing for two Popes in New York and also at St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome with the Sistine Choir.
Maire is a founding member of St. Boniface and has served St. Boniface in many roles. She presently is a member the Choir and serves as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.
